WIM SEGERS
Wim Segers has been Tribù’s home designer for many years. With his architectural design ‘Natal light’, Tribù® had its first international breakthrough. With variant ‘Natal teak’, Segers even won a Henry van de Velde prize. Segers’ architectural approach, based on comfort and functionality, was of great influence to the timeless style that characterizes Tribù.
VINCENT VAN DUYSEN
Vincent Van Duysen is a Belgian architect who has a number of interesting projects to his name on a national and international level. Also in the world of design he has won his spurs with work for Modular, B&B Italia, Cappellini, Swarovski, Obumex, Bulo and Viccarbe. In 2009 he was elected 'designer of the year' at the Maison & Objet fair in Paris. For Tribù he designed ‘Neutra’, a sober but elegant collection with clean, simple forms, flowing lines and refined details.
PIERGIORGIO CAZZANIGA
Piergiorgio Cazzaniga, graduated in interior design, holds an impressive list of achievements. He designed for several leading Italian furnishing companies such as Boffi Cucine, MDF Italia, Poliform and Matteograssi. In 1991 he set up his own practice ‘Piergiorgio Cazzaniga Design’, dealing mainly with furnishing design, shop and showroom design and art direction. For Tribù® he designed two collections: Bird and Essentiel.
FABIAAN VAN SEVEREN
Fabiaan Van Severen graduated as an artistic painter but changed to furniture design and interior architecture. Next to his own creations, he also worked for Indera and Delta Light. The choice of material is very determinating for his designs. He has a preference for materials that are as pure as possible and that speak for themselves. For the Mirthe table and bench he opted purposefully for aluminium: robust, lightweight and completely recyclable, ideal for outdoor use.
BRAM BOLLEN
Bram Bollen started as an intern at Tribù. When he graduated two years later with a Master degree in product design, his career as a Belgian designer soon took off. He started his own design studio ‘studio plan b’, while continuing working for Tribù on a freelance base. Bollen likes to work with renewing materials, he designed the first chair in injection-moulded plastic for outdoor use. Result was the refreshing Vintage collection, inspired by the 70ies. In the ‘Terra’ collection he plays with Canax®, a strong but very natural looking fibre, bases on hemp.
ANDREI MUNTEANU
Born and educated in Romania, Munteanu focussed first on natural sciences. He found his artistic identity, linking various influences: Italian design, primitive art and Japanese architecture. Munteanu designed several sofas for MDF Italia and JongForm. In 2004 he designs the first sofa concept for Tribù®, ‘Pure Sofa’ that reduces design to the essence : pure simplicity and elegance characterise this design.
